Buying a home with GI Bill

Yep, that is our first home, we bought it with a GI loan way back in 1973.  Would you believe less than $25,000 for a three bedroom house.  Ok, I know that in 1973 $25K was a small fortune.  But the fact is the VA Financing of the loan is one of the perks that we earned for our military service. 

I am not sure what the maximum loan was back in those days, maybe 60-80 thousand but in a recent Mil.Com email  I was amazed to learn that “With a VA home loan you can buy a new home for up to $719,000 with no down-payment and get the same low VA loan interest rate.”   Wow, how times have changed.

That seems like a lot of money to me but it is one of the perks that our soldiers have today, what ever they get, they deserve it, they got it the old fashion way, they earned it.

That wasn't the real, kind, generous Jane talking; it was the poxy jilted lover.

My Dog

I went down this morning to sign up my Dog for welfare.

At first the lady said, "Dogs are not eligible to draw welfare".

So I explained to her that my Dog is unemployed, lazy, can't speak English and has no frigging clue who his Daddy is.

So she looked in her policy book to see what it takes to qualify.

My Dog gets his first check Friday.

Damn this is a great country.

"I'm proud of what I did," so declared Amjad Mahmad Awad, 19, on Sunday just moments before an indictment against him and his partner Hakim Awad was filed before the Judea and Samaria Sector Military Court, over the murders of five members of the Fogel family two and a half months ago.

Last week the killer, Hakim Awad, was sentenced to five consecutive life terms.  His attitude?  We was all smiles and laughs.  He smiled at the cameras and said he had “no regrets.”

I just want to say hello this morning my good friend. Mom is getting better but still weak as for me I'm exhausted and my left arm is in a lot of pain. Remember when I fell about 4 weeks ago. now it hurts so bad but I have to wait until about a week and a half to see my doctor. This Canadian medical system is weaker then I thought. The folks who are  getting the free stuff, don't like the folks who
are paying for the free stuff, because the folks who are paying for
the free stuff can no longer afford to pay for both the free stuff and
their own stuff.

The folks who are paying for the free stuff want the free stuff to
stop, and the folks who are getting the free stuff want even more free
stuff on top of the free stuff they are already getting!

Now.... The people who are forcing the people who pay for the free
stuff have told the  people who are RECEIVING the free stuff, that the
people who are PAYING for the free stuff, are being mean, prejudiced,
and racist.

So... The people who are GETTING the free stuff have been convinced
they need to hate the people who are paying for the free stuff by the
people who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff, and
giving them the free stuff in the first place.

We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now
more people  getting free stuff than paying for the free stuff.

Now understand this.  All great democracies have committed financial
suicide somewhere between 200 and 250 years after being founded.  The
reason?  The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from
the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from
the treasury in exchange for electing them.

The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, 235 years ago.
The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people
paying for the free stuff. We have one chance to change that.  In
2012.  Failure to change that spells the end of the United States as
we know it.

Today we have another war ongoing because their God is bigger than our God.

He Promised, did he deliver.......

Arrogance beyond belief……

President Obama and Speaker Boehner have agreed that the President will address a joint session of the Congress next Thursday, not Wednesday during the long scheduled Republican Presidential Debate.  The Wednesday request for a Joint Session was nothing more than a blatant attempt to flex his presidential muscle.  I am pleased that the Speaker said nope, that just don’t work for me.  It was the first time in the history of our country that a speaker has rejected such a request.  Thank you Speaker Boehner, you did the right thing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This extraordinary abuse exceeds all prior levels of contempt and disrespect for the coordinate and equal branches of government. To his credit, House Speaker John Boehner responded, politely to be sure, with a firm suggestion that the President would be welcome on a different schedule.

I am confident that Speaker Boehner will take a lot of grief from the press but that is ok by me, the people see this episode in our history for what it is, an arrogant president who has withered in size.
