Shameful………

6026965135_b841132091_b

President Barack Obama, in the process of saluting, participates in a ceremony at Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Del., Aug. 9, 2011, for the dignified transfer of U.S. and Afghan personnel who died in Afghanistan on Aug. 6. (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)

Photography of returning remains has historically been very tightly controlled, and traditionally if any of the families of the dead object, only the approved caskets are photographed. In this case, 19 of the 30 families said no, and the press were told they were not allowed to take images during the scene, despite high interest. They even asked if they could photograph just the officials, but were still rebuffed. That's the point of contention, since the White House widely released a photo on their own.

What the old sarge thinks:  Yep, our commander (shutter) in chief, completely disregarded the wishes of the families in violation of DOD policy, how could this looser pass an opportunity for self promotion……

I'm going to say it now. I've been thinking it for some time. This is the worst president in my lifetime and Jimmy Carter is now the second worst president. I never thought anyone could beat Jimmy Carter.

It's an election year Sarge. Oh wait, for these guys it's always an election year.

God bless America. :)

This photo makes me sick to my stomach! I am angry. My heart hurts for the disrespect shown to the families. Wrong. So wrong. But more than being wrong...horribly sad.

And coming soon, SARGE--in fact, just in time for the 2012 elections--the Hollywood blockbuster "Raid On Bin Laden", starring, I suppose, Denzel Washington as Barack Obama.

And then he leaves on vacation during an economic crisis. Oh wait...some say he is always on vacation!

Big hugs, honey...

Shameful only begins to sum it up.

I'm just heartsick over all of the above. The news about the movie nearly cost me my dinner. I don't "hate" Obama, and we do pray for him, but there are times my Christian beliefs are sorely tried.
Unbelievable.
BTW: I came over here to tell you that I'm so sorry to hear you're ailing again. I've been AWOL for awhile. Please feel better! Maybe you need to stop listening to the news for a while!
~~~Blessings~~~
Wrong. It's just wrong. Everything is going wrong with this country, hell... this world! What the eff is happening in London. And for no other reason than "just because".
Sad times.
Very sad to disregard the wishes of the families like that.
Nothing surprises me anymore. I try so hard to respect the Presidency, but this guy is a loser. Respect our Leaders is what the good book says and pray for them. OK, I will do that but I also pray that he will no longer be our president. I hear sounds from Texas that I like
Right on, Sarge.
And I want to know how YOU are doing.
