Elderly woman asked to remove adult diaper during TSA search

tsa tsa2691

I suppose the question is “Do you feel safer now?”

A woman has filed a complaint with federal authorities over how her elderly mother was treated at Northwest Florida Regional Airport last weekend.

Jean Weber of Destin filed a complaint with the Department of Homeland Security after her 95-year-old mother was detained and extensively searched last Saturday while trying to board a plane to fly to Michigan to be with family members during the final stages of her battle with leukemia.

Her mother, who was in a wheelchair, was asked to remove an adult diaper in order to complete a pat-down search.

“It’s something I couldn’t imagine happening on American soil,” Weber said Friday. “Here is my mother, 95 years old, 105 pounds, barely able to stand, and then this.”

I just do not know folks, but it seems to me that the terrorist have won, we are no longer free people. The politically correct US Government is abusing it’s citizens while refusing to profile likely terrorist.

Ok, I'm all for being safe on our planes but a little common sense would go a long, long ways towards making people more accepting of the things they have to go through to get on a plane anymore.

Does TSA stand for Totally Stupid A**holes or what?? 95? 105 pounds? In a wheelchair?? Seriously people???

Mother mercy. That's truly awful.

I just hate to fly nowadays. Pretty soon nobody will want to travel at all.

If Bush were still in office there would be an uproar over this. There won't be because a democrat is in charge. What a shame.

Have a terrific day Sarge. Big hug to you and Miss Bee. :)

I'll tell Charlie, If that was me and as they took off the depend I would pee in his face. Oops, sorry about that. This poor woman. I guess everyone of us will be treated as criminals from now on. I feel sorry for the lady.

More on common sense, so 250 U.S. Soldiers get on a plane carrying rifles and pistols, no ammo of course, and they hold up the plane because some soldiers had the idea that they could carry a pocket knife.

Things are just getting too damn ridiculous... I mean where the hell has common sense gone these days? Give me an F-ing break.

We had a similar instance with a family member.

Sorry for being so colorful in my language, but stuff like this just p's me off.

This really made me furious! I heard the daughter interviewed today and I couldn't believe it. Sickening.
Double to what Sgt Dub said, too.

The TSA should be ashamed of themselves.

I'm completely shaken by that... My grandmother has been wearing diapers for senior citizens for more than 10 years (she's 97 years young now :) ) and I remembered how even at 87 she was very embarrassed when we decided it's time for her to start wearing adult diapers, and till now she's still not feeling good about it.. I can't even imagine her being in such an embarrassing and intrusive situation..
