The old sarge is hopeful, Scott Brown in the “People’s Seat”

Here in Massachusetts, as well as in Washington, a growing sense of gloom is setting in among Democrats about the fortunes of Democratic Senate candidate Martha Coakley. "I have heard that in the last two days the bottom has fallen out of her poll numbers," says one well-connected Democratic strategist. In her own polling, Coakley is said to be around five points behind Republican Scott Brown. "If she's not six or eight ahead going into the election, all the intensity is on the other side in terms of turnout," the Democrat says. "So right now, she is destined to lose."

How good can it get?

A Strange Old Tool . . . . Do you know what it is?
This Old Tool has been reintroduced in the United States by Congress and the new Administration. It's an integral part of pending health reform legislation.
The center piece of Obamacare. Are you starting to feel it yet?
Coakley Thug Roughs Up Reporter
Desperate times take desperate measures. This Democrat goon shoved a reported to stop him form asking questions the Coakley did not want to answer. Personally, I would like to see the reporter press charges.....

A GOP win in Massachusetts still seems a long shot
It is hard to believe but the seat held by Ted Kennedy for 47 years is in play, a win here or even a close vote would be a huge message about the mood of the country.
A GOP win in Massachusetts still seems a long shot, but a close call would certainly send a message to Democrats nationally if a Republican comes close to knocking off a well-known Democrat in one of the bluest states in the nation, there is a 3 to 1 ratio of democrat voters to republican voters in Massachusetts.

Global Warming Hoax
Frozen Kamikaze Iguanas Fall From Trees
A remarkable cold snap that brought temperatures in the mid-30s to the Miami area Thursday morning also brought lizards falling out of trees
A blanket of ice covers strawberries Wednesday in Plant City, Florida
Icicles cling to oranges Wednesday in Lakeland. Farmers spray their crops to help protect them against the cold temperatures.
Two of our south Florida friends are trying to save the lizards
Come on Al, blow some more hot air………..
How many people have to die to prompt our Commander in Chief to do his job…..
He has devoted his time to ponzi schemes to funnel America’s treasure into the hands of his Union friends we have endured two deadly terrorist, Little Rock and Fort Hood, attacks and a near miss on Christmas Eve. Three hundred more people were near death while he remained on the golf course on Hawaii, with no response for three days.
Of course it is Bush’s fault, the president is just overloaded with work trying to correct all of GW Bush’s mistakes. What a crock of crap that is and I for one have watched this weasel try to pass the buck for his incompetence.
We have grandmothers removing their shoes in airports while a terrorist walked past security with a bomb in his crotch, holy crap, enough of punishing the American flying public because of political correctness. You damn right, we should look at the people that are trying to kill us and force them as a people to endure expanded security, give grandma a break, she has not tried to kill anyone……..
IT IS TIME TO DEMAND AN END TO POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

Emergency weather bulletin
This text is from a county emergency manager out in the western part of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan after a severe snow storm ....
The Mining Journal, Marquette, MI
WEATHER BULLETIN
Up here in the Northern part of Michigan we just recovered from a Historic event --- may I even say a "Weather Event" of "Biblical Proportions" --- with a historic blizzard of up to 44" inches of snow and winds to 90 MPH that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of communities and cut power to 10's of thousands.
FYI:
Obama did not come.
FEMA did nothing.
No one howled for the government.
No one blamed the government.
No one even uttered an expletive on TV.
Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit.
Our Mayor's did not blame Obama or anyone else.
Our Governor did not blame Obama or anyone else either.
CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX, or NBC did not visit - or even report on this category 5 snow storm.
Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.
No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.
No one looted.
Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something.
Nobody expected the government to do anything either.
No Larry King, No Bill O'Rielly, No Oprah, No Chris Mathews and No Geraldo Rivera.
No Shaun Penn, No Barbara Striesand, No Brad Pitt, No Hollywood types to be found.
Nope, we just melted the snow for water.
Sent out caravans of SUV's to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars.
The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn't ask for a penny.
Local restaurants made food, and the police and fire departments delivered it to the snow bound families..
Families took in the stranded people - total strangers.
We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman lanterns.
We put on an extra layers of clothes because up here it is "Work or Die".
We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us out of a mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes for 'sittin at home' checks.
Even though a Category 5 blizzard of this scale is not usual, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.
I hope this gets passed on.
Maybe ......
SOME people will get the message ......
The world does Not owe you a living.
Got it???

On the road again -
Just can't wait to get on the road again.
The life I love is making music with my friends

Goin' places that I've never been.
Seein' things that I may never see again
I LIKE THE CLASSICAL LOOK
If you don't stop drivin' that hot rod Lincoln
Now you've heard the story of the hot-rod race
When the Ford and Lincoln was settin' the pace
That story is true I'm here to say cause I was a drivin' that Model-A
Got a Lincoln motor and it's really souped up
And that Model-A body makes it look like a pup
Got eight cylinders'n uses them all got overdrive that just won't stall
Got a four-barrel carb and dual exhaust 4-11 gears it can really get lost
Got safety tubes and I'm not scared the brakes are good and the tires are fair
We left San Pedro late one night the moon and the stars was shining bright
Drivin' up your Grapevine hill we was passin' cars like they was standin' still
FOR SOMEONE WITH WAY TOO MUCH MONEY
Must be funny
In the rich man's world
Money, money, money
Always sunny
In the rich man's world
Aha-ahaaa
All the things I could do
If I had a little money
It's a rich man's world
IS IT DEER SEASON YET????????????
The interest rate is up and the stock market's down
And you only gettin mugged if you go down town
I live back in the woods you see my woman and the kids and the dogs and me
I've got a shotgun a rifle and a four wheel drive
And a country boy can survive country folks can survive
I can plow a field all day long I can catch catfish from dusk till dawn
We make our own whiskey and our own smoke too
Ain't too many things these old boys can't do
We grow good ole tomatoes and homemade wine
And a country boy can survive country folks can survive
Because you can't starve us out and you can't make us run
Cause we'se them ole boys raised on shotguns
We say grace and we say mamm if you ain't in to that we don't give a damn
MUST BE GOING TO THE HOG PEN
I'm still the bravest soul in sin,
Burning till the night is done.
Of all the truths and lies
And stories of riders in the sky
Only the bravest try
Where eagles and
angels dare to fly

Michael Yon arrested at Seattle airport
That’s right, Michael Yon, famed independent war correspondent was detained at the airport, handcuffs and all.
For not disclosing how much money he makes
From his facebook fan page:
Got arrested at the Seattle airport for refusing to say how much money I make. (The uniformed ones say I was not “arrested”, but they definitely handcuffed me.) Their videos and audios should show that I was polite, but simply refused questions that had nothing to do with national security. Port authority police eve…naturally came — they were professionals — and rescued me from the border bullies.
WHO IS MICHAEL YON???
Michael Yon (born 1964)[1] is an American author, independent reporter, columnist, photographer, and blogger. He served in the Special Forces in the early-1980s, one of the youngest soldiers to pass the Green Beret selection process, and he became a general freelance writer in the mid-1990s. He focused on military writing after the invasion of Iraq.[2] Yon has been embedded on numerous occasions with American and British troops in Iraq, most prominently a deployment with the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry Regiment (Deuce Four) of the 25th Infantry Division in Mosul, Iraq that ended in September 2005.[3]
MICHAEL’S NEW YEARS EVE DISPATCH
Into Thine Hand I Commit My Spirit
Arghandab, Afghanistan
New Year's Eve, 2009
On this small base surrounded by a mixture of enemy and friendly territory, a memorial has been erected just next to the Chapel. Inside the tepee are 21 photos of 21 soldiers killed during the first months of a year-long tour of duty. The fallen will belong forever to the honor rolls of the 1-17th Infantry Battalion, 5th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, and they will join the sacred list of names of those who have given their lives in service of the United States of America.

The symbol of the 2nd Infantry Division is the Indian Head. At night, soldiers of the “Indian Head Division” can be seen passing by the tepee, sometimes stopping to peer inside before walking into the darkness.

Sometimes the soldiers walk by carrying lights that are red or green, or sometimes white. Tonight, Cobra Battery was firing illumination rounds from the cannons, which boom from the darkness, arcing a round into the night, where miles away a canister unsheathes, and the parachute opens, and brightness floats silently, shimmering over the valley where these soldiers died.

The firing is not done in remembrance, but to support ongoing combat operations.

Inside the tepee are the 21 photos, and a Bible. The book is opened to Psalm 31.

In front of each photo, electric candles flicker through the night.

Mostly there is silence.

Soldiers put cigarettes in front of each photo, though they say that many of the fallen did not smoke.

…for thou art my strength.

Only during such times are strong men and women of greatest importance. At all other times we have Hollywood.
Today we need soldiers who never forget their brothers, while they carry forward with devotion and strength.
MICHAEL’S CHRISTMAS EVE DISPATCH
Christmas message from General Petraeus
24 December 2009Many people know that General Petraeus is one of finest Americans ever minted. To me, General Petraeus is a strategic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. If General Petraeus didn't show up, we likely would have flown our Iraq efforts into a mountain. We now have a solid chance for success in Afghanistan.
I emailed asking for General Petraeus to say something to our folks for Christmas.
General Petraeus responded with this excellent message:
Michael:
As you know, our troopers are doing magnificent work in Afghanistan, Iraq, and a host of other places throughout the Central Command area and, indeed, throughout the world. Many of them will celebrate the holidays while deployed on combat and contingency operations, defending our nation's freedoms far from home and far from loved ones. They - and their families - have made enormous sacrifices in recent years, in many cases deploying multiple times and enduring long separations from those at home while carrying out important missions in challenging conditions against tough enemies.
As we all remember our many personal blessings this holiday season, we should also take a moment to remember how truly fortunate our country is to have the remarkable men and women of our armed forces who serve so courageously and so selflessly. They truly are America's new greatest generation.
To our troopers overseas and to those here at home: thank you for all that you have done to help keep America safe and to protect the values for which generations of Americans have fought in the past. We are deeply grateful for your extraordinary service in recent years and we are equally thankful for all that we know you will do in the years ahead. It remains the greatest of privileges to serve with each of you.
Best wishes to all of you for a wonderful holiday season and a great year in 2010. May God bless our great country and each and every one of you, and may God bless our troopers serving around the world and their families at home. Thank you very much!
GEN David H. Petraeus
Commander, US Central Command
WHAT THE OLD SARGE THINKS…………….
Folks, do not get me wrong here, I believe we need a tough homeland security effort to protect the American People. However, a Nigerian Islamist who is thought to have trained with Yemen's Al Qaeda affiliate made it to the skies over Detroit where he attempted to blow up an airplane. How can it be that a few days later our security forces, for no good reason handcuff and detain the “Ernie Pile” of the “War on Terror.”

Some things are too good not to steal
Stolen for an Ol Broad’s Ramblings
HER WORDS: Some people shouldn’t be allowed to breed…or VOTE!
They do it big in Dubai…….
How big is that? It is roughly as tall as the World Trade Center towers piled one atop the other. Its closest competition is Toronto's CN Tower, which is not really a building at all, holding only satellites and observation decks, and is in any case nearly 900 feet shorter.
You have always been told that the three most important components of real estate it is LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Than is no longer true, it is now TIMING, TIMING, TIMING……..
Monday's ribbon-cutting, though, could hardly come at a more awkward time. Dubai, the most populous member of the United Arab Emirates, continues to deal with a massive real estate collapse that has sent shock waves through financial markets around the world and forced the ambitious city-state, in a significant blow to its pride, to seek repeated billion-dollar bailouts from neighboring Abu Dhabi. Conceived at the height of local optimism about Dubai's place in the region and the world, this seemingly endless bean-stock tower, which holds an Armani Hotel on its lower floors with apartments and offices above, has flooded Dubai with a good deal more residential and commercial space than the market can possibly bear.
