Back on 8/10/10 I did a post DO YOU MISS HIM YET? which was made up of still photos of GWB and Miss Laura greeting returning troops at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport. This morning I found a video and would like to share it with you.

On the original post I had several comments but I would like to share two of them just to show a contrast.
I was at the UFO at DFW the day after he was there. While those in charge knew they were coming, none of the volunteers were aware. It was a total surprise! They came in, did their thing, and left. No media, no speechifying, none of the "teachable moments" that our current President vainly indulges in. It was just two very grateful and gracious citizens supporting the men and women who serve.
We had it so good back then...Two wars...high debt...lack of direction...Oh, Just like now. Nothing changes. Cheers!!
There is a question here, who is the jerk in the two comments, and who is the grateful American? (I will keep score)

if you are keeping score you might do like i did, conservative vs. liberal. same thing (usually). what happened to half the population of this country? how can they not get it? why do they think it is "right" to take from one to give to another? and they are proud of this. now i am not selfish by a long shot and neither are you, we give plenty but we give where we want to. i resent giving where bo makes me give.
i think people like mm think we are selfish jerks, if he only knew, right honey? anyway i still have hope for the future of this country but it has to start with the education of our children... right now they are not getting any. they can't read, they no longer can write cursive, history is distorted, they can't make change for a dollar ( is this the change they want?) and no phys ed, music, art, their english is awful, and they are our future leaders. shoot fire, now i really depressed myself. rats!

I miss him! MM has it all wrong, and his ilk are the ones that have made our country go on the road to a 3rd world country.
Thank you, President and Mrs. Bush! You are wonderful, classy people. We need about 200 million more like you!
No matter what people can say Charlie, President Bush and his wife are classy people to welcome the soldiers back. He didn't have to do it but he did. Welcome home heroes.

Yes I miss President Bush. I miss both of them very much. Things weren't perfect, but we were much better off then than we are now. Much better.

God bless the American soldiers returning home. It won't be easy for them, but I am thankful that President and Mrs.Bush were there to show their appreciation.
Did you all notice, he was handing out coins --- no drink buying for any of them every again!
