West Palm Beach, today
Those of you that read Miss Bee’s Blog know I had my final PET Scan last week, Dr Green called with some good news and some bad news as a result of the scan.
Good News: It appears that the Lymphoma is gone, he said there was a slight uptake in the area of the cancer but he believes it is dead tissue, he was not concerned.
Bad News: The PET Scan picked up a spot in the upper lobe of my right lung. You will notice the series of photos I used in this post indicated that I was a long time smoker even though I have not smoked for 25 years, the fact is that I did smoke for close to 40 years. Is it lung cancer, at this point we do not know, there will be a biopsy done later this week or early next week. Dr Green was concerned about the spot, he had seen it on earlier scans but it appears to be larger now. Today we met with not only Dr Green, we saw a Surgeon and a Pulmonary Doctor, they met with a Radiologist after we left and came to a consensus that the Biopsy was the next logical step.
I must admit, the time between the phone call and today I have been very depressed, angry, bitchy, and assorted other adjectives that I could use. After the call I told Miss Bee that I could not do anymore, I am too beat up. Today I was very comfortable with the medical team. They have reduced my anxiety level. Hopefully it will be enough to give me the attitude I need to make it through another stage of my life.
What the hell, I can’t die now, we have cruises booked through next February…….

Well, dear Sarge, today you do not have to do anything. One step at a time. Have the biopsy and see what the doctors say. I'll start praying for good news right this minute.
Big hugs xo
i love you honey and you will be fine. because i say so. you know i am always right, right?

Drat Sarge. You certainly have been through so very much this past year. I hope this turns out to be nothing. I can hope.
I too was a smoker for many years, and I'm hoping that doesn't come back to haunt me. Smoking was to popular way back when. Almost everyone smoked.
You are Miss Bee are in my prayers. Big hug to you both. :)

Darn straight. You keep your eye on those cruises.
You can count on me Sarge. I prayed for you before I began typing this comment.
I was so happy to take your Cancer badge off of my blog. It was a relief to know the tumor was gone. I'm not adding it back yet. I'm going to pray that it isn't necessary.
Hugs to you and Miss Bee.
Well, dang! Hopefully it is scar tissue or something not serious!
We came over from Jeter's Blog. Sarge, you WILL be well! And that's an order. Purrs & prayers headed your way from us,
The Lounge Kats & Mommy Trish
We came over from Jeter's blog, too...you can't have too many well-wishers, right?!! We are all rootin' for you, Sarge!
Hugs Sarge... Rest for a while, celebrate the good news, get the biopsy on the not-so-good news, and develop an action plan.
We're all with you, my dear...
Well hell ...
And that's the only negative thing I'm going to say as this is not going to be the end of you by a long shot. Obviously this little spot didn't get the message that you are not a man to be trifled with and neglected to evacuate the premises along with the lymphoma. Hopefully it will get the hint when your medical team gets their hands on it.
Sending good thoughts and more prayers your way. Just remember, Miss Bee is ALWAYS right!
Ya know, Sarge...it sees our past is always catching up with us. Our smoking and drinking in our youth runs up a bites us on the butt in our old age. Just fight the good fight and I’ll keep the prayers coming too. Might even throw in a few animal sacrifices, too.
Sarge, you kicked lymphoma's ass and you can kick whatever that is in your lung too.
We're friends of Jeter's (and his Mom, the grate Roberta Harris) And we are sending you the best from California.
Sarge, Linda put it so well I'm not going to even try to add to that! Except to say we're sending lots of love and prayers your way from B-town!!!
~~~Blessings~~~
OK soldier, looks like you're getting called back into active duty! Still one more war to win. We are praying for you, for sure
I hope that spot is just a little mistake on the scan and everything will be okay. Book more cruises!
I'll certainly keep you and Miss Bee in my prayers. We've fought battles against cancer in my family -- several of us, in fact. I don't know much about medicine, but I recommend prayer and laughter.
You and Miss Bee are in our thoughts and purrayers.
Right, Charlie! Keep booking cruises and keep beating the Cancer. Miss Bee said so and the rest of us believe in you. Prayers for you and your family...we all love you and wish you the best today and every day.
Big hugs...
My good friend jh asked me to stop by your blog, Sir. Sending you big purrs from Down Under... you should book a cruise to Australia! Cruise ships come to my city (Hobart, Tasmania) ALL the TIME in the cruising season.
Hugs to you, my friend!!!
My friend Charlie you keep that positiveness you always showed even though it must be wearing thin remember that you have many friends and you will always have this one from Canada. Remember Charlie that you were the one that gave me the strength to do that pole dance. So...
we must do it again soon on another cruise in the future. I'll be with you and Bee at all times. If you need some strength take it from me even though I'm not that great on being strong.
Paul
Yes, I read it on Miss Bee's blog. I'm so sorry. The medical team will do everything they can to relieve your anxiety. Be strong!
I just found this.
Nope you are not going to die.
Just relax and let us go through the beating for you. We are all behind you.
I know, life is a tough battle and you have fought every one of them.
Never forget, you are not alone!
