Yep, Flat Jeter is taking me to visit the doctor again today, this will be a short visit because of some pain I had after the last Chemo Treatment.

That was just one of the little digs that came my way after I deleted 547 photos from Miss Bee’s Camera. Yep, she was not too happy with me that time but she has decided to let me buy my own camera and to stop using her camera.

Wow, the old Sarge is going to get a new Camera, I wish I felt like going shopping but not today, oh well, soon.

Rules For The Real World

I am not sure folks, but these seem to be a good set of rules but I doubt they will be taught to our children in school.

There has been a rumor that Bill Gates gave a "Rules to Live-By" speech to high school kids with 11 great wisdom's about what should children expect as they enter the "real world". The fact is that the author of these rules is Charles Sykes, the author of Dumbing Down Our Kids. Regardless, rules are very good and worth repeating.

Rule 1: Life is not fair; get used to it.

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something before you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will not make 40 thousand dollars a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice president with a car phone until you "earn" both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger-flipping; they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you screw up, it's not your parents' fault so don't whine about your mistakes. Learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way paying your bills, cleaning your room, and listening to you tell them how idealistic you are. So before you save the rain forest from the blood-sucking parasites of your parents' generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers but life has not. In some schools they have abolished failing grades, they'll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This, of course, bears not the slightest resemblance to anything in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off, and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is not real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

What the old Sarge thinks: Our government is wasting billions of dollars pushing our defecate to over $11,793,893,000,000 (growing too fast to post), which is an accumulated debt for each citizen (man, woman, and child), $38,345.00. Our Government has spent almost $3 trillion dollars year to date. This is unsustainable folks, it is time to talk to your congressman, tell them to stop wasting our tax dollars now……….

Maxine made me laugh........

Yesterday I had a flat tire on the interstate. So I eased my car over to the shoulder of the road, carefully get out of the car and open the trunk. .

I took out 2 cardboard men, unfolded them and stood them at the rear of my car facing oncoming traffic. They look so life like you wouldn't believe it!

They are in trench coats exposing their nude bodies to the approaching drivers.
To my surprise, cars start slowing down looking at my lifelike men which made it safer for me to work at the side of the road. And of course, traffic starts backing up.

Everybody is tooting their horns and waving like crazy. It wasn't long before a state trooper pulls up behind me.

He gets out of his car and starts walking towards me.. I could tell he was not a happy camper!

'What's going on here? '

'My car has a flat tire', I said calmly..

'Well, what are those obscene cardboard men doing here by the road? '

I couldn't believe that he didn't know. So I told him,

'Helloooooo, those are my emergency flashers!'

People who have read my blog over the years know that I believe that one of the major problems in this country today is the hyphenated Americans, African-Americans, Mexican-Americans, Cuba-Americans, etc….. What ever happened to the melting pot that assimilated all immigrants into this great nation, Americans. Miss Bee’s heritage is from Italian Immigrants and she has told me that in her Grandfather’s house no on was allowed to speak Italian, they were Americans and would speak English, was that the good old days.

No, I think Mary Baker is the new “good old days” a black woman that will express her views openly, yes I know she will be called an “Uncle Tom” but not by me, I call her a Great American.

Over the past couple of years I have had several encounters with Matt Man, today that comes to and end. Maybe he had too much booze, frankly I hope so, when he wrote a serious hit piece on the old Sarge and one of my readers. It is a shameful piece filled with lies and vulgarity, I suggest you that you not read it.

He did say “Hey Charlie…while you are getting treated for your affliction (which I hope you beat) on the government dime, why don’t you tell people how much you hate government health care?”

On the government dime, sure I am on Medicare and also earned Tri Care, a guarantee made by the military to induce me to spend 26 years of my life in military service. That seems to be on my dime as well as Medicare which I paid for during my working years, pull your lips off the bottle Matt, sober up and try to work through some of your problems, it can be done, I am sober for 23 years now.

Now your fearless leader is planning to screw Medicare recipients with a cut of 500 billion dollars, and find 500 billion additional in savings from fraud. That is a fraud, if it can be done why hasn’t it, he is spending like a drunken sailor (scratch that, it is an insult to a sailor). I find it amazing that you can support a novice who makes you look back to the Carter years as the “Good old days”

We called in the big guns today, the war is on….

The demon is still there, but we put a big volley of heavy fire on him today.

Here we are at the Palm Beach Cancer Center a few minutes early for our appointment.

Flat Jeter started jumping up and down wanting to go visit the Fishes, he was lucky today, they did not run away from him.

This is our nurse for the day, Flat Jeter told her he was the real nurse but she could help with some of the work, she loves Flat Jeter and went to all the other nurses and told them they had to come in and speak to nurse Jeter

Nurse Jeter was clearly in charge, overseeing everything but the needle sticking….

At about 5 hours into the treatment the drip bags were not enough, they had to push more in with a big syringe.

Ok Sarge, you have done enough today, lets go home and rest.

Thursday is treatment day…..

Since this is my second treatment I have some idea of what to expect. The treatment will take 6 hours for all the crap they are going to put in my veins. I start at 10 AM and should finish around 4 PM, that sucks.

Flat Jeter will keep me company and hopefully help me with a photo record of the medical profession putting poison into my body, it is designed to kill the cancer but damn, they came close to killing me last time.

It astonishes us how quickly Afghanistan is moving from being a "war of necessity" to "too tough to do." President Obama's comments over the weekend gave the clearest signal yet that his administration is seeking an exit strategy from a conflict he described in August as "not only a war worth fighting" but "fundamental to the defense of our people." Commitment to that fundamental defense is eroding.

An Aug. 30 initial review by Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, U.S. commander in Afghanistan, concluded that more troops are necessary to provide a "bridge capability" until Afghan forces have been adequately trained to take on the task. This increase of force is vital. "Resources will not win this war," the report states, "but under-resourcing could lose it."

When he grew tired of fiddling President Obama flew to New York to appear on David Lettermen show, where he made some lame jokes and planned his basketball game for today.

In the meantime American Mothers and Fathers spent another restless night because their sons or daughters are in harm’s way. These young men who watched the sunrise over Afghanistan knowing their president cannot make a decision like do we win or do we run. In their mind they know they came here at the request of their government, now they see their Commander in Chief wobbling over a request for more troops, their commander has said without the additional troops these soldiers cannot win the war. Their Commanding General has made it clear to President Obama that without the additional troops requested he will be forced to resign his commission, he is not interested in leading an Army the is destined to lose.

OK, I know it is a cartoon but there is not humor here, President Obama, be decisive, or you will have their blood on your hands.

I don’t know folks, but things a starting to trouble the Old Sarge. As you know I am a Vietnam veteran and have lived with the knowledge that we abandoned the Vietnamese people in 1975, the results of our cowardly withdrawal form Vietnam was the torture, reeducation camps, and death of over a million people in Vietnam and Cambodia. God, please do not let this generation of soldiers suffer with the shame of defeat the Vietnam vets has had to deal with for 35 years.

This weekend, in a typical Washington manner, a classified document was leaked to the press.

Army General Stanley McChrystal said in a confidential assessment that without additional forces and a new strategy, the mission "will likely result in failure". We also learn that the Obama Administration directed that they sit on this report for 6 weeks. What the hell is that about, I know we have an inapt Administration but surly they do not think they can call “Time-Out” for 6 weeks. Or could it be that the war is troubling for the agenda of the Commander in Chief, healthcare reform must be more important than the Soldiers like Lance Cpl. Joshua Bernard above.

I am mad as hell, and I am not going to take it anymore………..

In real life, O'Keefe is a Fordham MBA student and Giles a minister's daughter. They walked into ACORN offices in Baltimore where the ACORN Employees were more than happy to show them ways around the tax laws and public laws while helping set up a brothel with plans to import underage girls from South America to work as prostitutes.

They went on to New York and California and obtained the same help from ACORN officials, with the ACRON worker in San Diego offering to help with contacts in Mexico to help smuggle underage girls into the United States.

Finally, the Congress of the United States has voted to defund ACORN. No more tax dollars for ACORN. Please contact your congress person and demand that the house and senate bills be approved in final form and sent to the President with a Veto Proof Vote.

What struck the old Sarge is the terrain they are walking on while carrying an Average Approach March Load. You may be surprised to know that each of these guys are carrying 95.67 pounds of equipment. A typical mission like this is 48-72 hours with resupply of ammo, water, and MRE’s daily.

Lighter Fighters Sent To Afghanistan

April 26, 2009: After several delays, some troops of the U.S. Army 4th Brigade will receive lighter personal equipment, before going to Afghanistan. New, and lighter boots, tools and body armor will lighten the infantryman's load by an average 13 pounds (5.9 kg). This is a big deal for grunts who spend hours marching and running around carrying 60-100 pounds of gear.

The only problem is that the Old Sarge is one of millions of Americans that no longer watch NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, or UNIVISION. The president chose not to speak to us, frankly, I don’t give a damn.

An older gentleman had an appointment to see the urologist who shared offices with several other doctors. The waiting room was filled with patients.

As he approached the receptionist's desk, he noticed that the receptionist was a large unfriendly woman who looked like a Sumo wrestler. He gave her his name.

In a very loud voice, the receptionist said, "YES, I HAVE YOUR NAME HERE; YOU WANT TO SEE THE DOCTOR ABOUT IMPOTENCE, RIGHT?"

All the patients in the waiting room snapped their heads around to look at the very embarrassed man. He recovered quickly, and in an equally loud voice replied:

'NO, I'VE COME TO INQUIRE ABOUT A SEX CHANGE OPERATION,BUT I DON'T WANT THE SAME DOCTOR THAT DID YOURS.'

What’s up with Time Magazine

During his nationally syndicated radio program Thursday, Beck addressed the Time cover story, calling it "fair."

But he added, "They talk about how I'm just, I'm fearful of everything and I'm just, I'm creating all of these fears and these worries, and I also, I'm almost conspiratorial in nature."

Could it be that the media fears Glenn Beck since he is drawing around 3 million viewers in the 5 PM time slot, that is big.

Even though Time Magazine is not part of my life I cannot let this pass without some comment. Mad Man, they say, the the real thing is he is a Libertarian, a Patriot, and out spoken about what he sees as a threat to our country. The fact is that Glenn Beck has taken on the media, like time and is kicking butt over their failure to investigate radical people that are surrounding our president.

My subscription to Time Magazine was cancelled when they came out with Osama Bin Laden as man of the year in late 2001, as the twin towers were still smoking. I have not opened a Time since then and many other Americans feel the same way I do.

And just maybe it is because Fox News is taking their readers and viewers in many time slots beating the networks combined.

The Main Stream Media is now reduced to the point of being ineffective at carrying the water for the Obama Administration.

The sleeping giant is awake, join in folks, we can take our country back.
