Meghan Marguerite McCain (born October 23, 1984) is an American blogger and the daughter of U.S. Senator John McCain and Cindy Hensley McCain. I am not sure it would have made much difference in last years election but personally I wish John McCain and his little girl had grown up to be more like Barry Goldwater. I do not recall anyone ever questioning Barry’s conservative principles.

Let me see, October 23, 1984, holy crap, she is 24 years old already. Certainly she has acquired enough experience and knowledge to know how the GOP should look in the future. In one of her latest pearls of wisdom she explains why she thinks gay marriage is in line with Republican values, and what the GOP stands to gain by supporting a change.

Needless to say, the base of the GOP, at least in my opinion, would abandon the party with a change in this party position. Marriage is traditional and based on religious teachings, and alternative to marriage should be supported, civil unions, etc… Miss McCain stated this was the most important thing she ever wrote, a responder asked what the next most important thing she ever wrote, “your high school theme paper.” I think that sums up my thoughts on Miss McCain.

25 ways “Our Dear Leader” disappointed me…….

1. When his classless supporters booed President Bush on Inauguration day.

2. When he was a NO SHOW at the Medal of Honor Ball.

3. Order to close GITMO with no plan for the Terrorist held there.

4. Federal money for abortions overseas.

5. Money for ACORN in the stimulus bill.

6. His arrogance when republicans attempted to modify spending bill (he said "I WON").

7. Insisting on the appointment of a “TAX CHEAT” to head up IRS.

8. It seems that all of his appointees cheat on their taxes, how can this be?

9. Taking the control of the census to the Whitehouse so he can control the numbers.

10. What the hell is an “Overseas contingency operation”?

11. Continues to blame Bush, for all his problems, note I said his problems.

12. Refuses to use the term Terrorist for people who want to kill Americans.

13. Nationalized the automobile industry.

14. About to Nationalize Health Care with no debate. (gutless wonder)

15. Give the Prime Minister of England gift of DVD’s.

16. Give the Queen an IPod with his speeches loaded on it.

17. His push of Cap and Trade, it will amount the the destruction of American business.

18. Personal attach on a private citizen, Rush Limbaugh.

19. His demonstrated lack of ability to give a speech without teleprompter.

20. International Apology tour, he has his wife’s lack of pride in America.

21. Snuggling up with South American Dictators.

22. His threat to prosecute Bush advisers for doing their job. This is what his friends in South America do with their opposition.

23. Release of TOP SECRET memos for our enemies to read.

24. Release of photos that will cost the lives of our military personnel.

25. His use of the term “I Inherited”, can he not just be a leader, remember Harry Truman, “the buck stops here” with this guy the buck stops on George Bush.

President Obama's White House was forced to issue an apology Monday after a photo opportunity gone badly wrong — an Air Force 747 plane did a low flyover over Lower Manhattan, prompting terrified citizens to flee from their offices and high-profile accusations of government insensitivity in the post 9/11 era.

White House Military Office Director Louis Caldera issued a brief statement saying he was too blame.

An administration official said the Federal Aviation Administration was informed the exercise would be taking place, and notified Mr. Bloomberg's office on April 22.

The problem was the FAA was told the information was classified and that it should not alert the press to warn the public.

WHAT THE OLD SARGE THINKS: It was nice for the military office director to fall on his sword, at least our "Dear Leader" was not involved.

We now have an administration that is willing to publish “TOP SECRET” documents in the New York Times disregarding the objections of the past five directors of the CIA. Now they are about to release an accumulation of photos of supposed battlefield abuse of detainees. However they are not willing to warn the people of New York of a stupid photo op because it is classified.

Let us be perfectly frank about this, PHOTO OP CLASSIFIED ------ INFO THAT WILL COST LIVES OF SOLDIERS OK. I ask you America, what the hell is wrong with this picture?

Let us also look at history, George Bush: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED—Obama: SCARE THE HELL OUT OF NEW YORK, which will get the most ink.

Late last week President Barack Obama and Democratic congressional leaders agreed to use "budget reconciliation" if necessary to jam a massive health-care bill through Congress. The power of a reconciliation bill is this: Senate rules allow only 20 hours of debate and then passage with a simple majority of 51 votes. This represents a lightning strike in the normal deliberative time-frame of the Senate. The historic precedent of open debate, and the requirement of 60 votes to close debate, are completely short-circuited.

Since the House most likely has enough votes to pass this measure, this is the perfect solution for the liberals to ram socialized medicine through the Senate. With reconciliation, Republicans are prevented from stopping the bill with a filibuster.

Add this to the exaggeration of Swine Flu, which has the media in a frenzy, and the American people just might go along with this "need for better health care".

How can we have a better health care system if the plan is molded after the failed health care systems of Britain, Canada, and a host of other countries with national health care? I for one, will not be participating in this plan!

This morning I found the following post on one of my new friends AIRMAN MOM. The post sparked the Old Sarge's intrest, you know me, I had to know more so this a combination of Airman Mom's post with some additions.

You're an 19 year old kid. You're critically wounded, and dying in the jungle in the Ia Drang Valley , 11-14-1965, LZ X-ray, Vietnam . Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8 - 1, and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in.

You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns, and you know you're not getting out. Your family is 1/2 way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again. As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.

Then, over the machine gun noise, you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter, and you look up to see an un-armed Huey, but it doesn't seem real, because no Medi-Vac markings are on it. Ed Freeman is coming for you. He's not Medi-Vac, so it's not his job, but he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire, after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come.

He's coming anyway.

And he drops it in, and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 2 or 3 of you on board. Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire, to the Doctors and Nurses. And, he kept coming back.... 13 more times..... And took about 30 of you and your buddies out, who would never have gotten out.

Captain Ed W. Freeman, United States Army, distinguished himself by numerous acts of conspicuous gallantry and extraordinary intrepidity on 14 November 1965 while serving with Company A, 229th Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile). As a flight leader and second in command of a 16-helicopter lift unit, he supported a heavily engaged American infantry battalion at Landing Zone X-Ray in the Ia Drang Valley, Republic of Vietnam. The unit was almost out of ammunition after taking some of the heaviest casualties of the war, fighting off a relentless attack from a highly motivated, heavily armed enemy force. When the infantry commander closed the helicopter landing zone due to intense direct enemy fire, Captain Freeman risked his own life by flying his unarmed helicopter through a gauntlet of enemy fire time after time, delivering critically needed ammunition, water and medical supplies to the besieged battalion. His flights had a direct impact on the battle's outcome by providing the engaged units with timely supplies of ammunition critical to their survival, without which they would almost surely have gone down, with much greater loss of life. After medical evacuation helicopters refused to fly into the area due to intense enemy fire, Captain Freeman flew 14 separate rescue missions, providing life-saving evacuation of an estimated 30 seriously wounded soldiers -- some of whom would not have survived had he not acted. All flights were made into a small emergency landing zone within 100 to 200 meters of the defensive perimeter where heavily committed units were perilously holding off the attacking elements. Captain Freeman's selfless acts of great valor, extraordinary perseverance and intrepidity were far above and beyond the call of duty or mission and set a superb example of leadership and courage for all of his peers. Captain Freeman's extraordinary heroism and devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit and the United States Army.

We, the Vietnam Veterans of America where sent to Vietnam to Protect the people of Vietnam from the Army of the People's Republic of North Vietnam.

We were memembers of the USARPAC Army Calibration Teams

Each team had a CWO Team Chief and technicians, we were family, we protected each other

Each team had a NCO and a Senior Technician

We were taught how to protect ourselves

When it gets right down to it, we depend on each other for protection

We were issued body armor for personal protection

Sometimes, for protection we would have an Armored Escort in dangerous areas

Rule one of war: Young men die.

Rule two of war: Old men cannot change rule one.

This is what a person looks like after working 12 hour shifts 7 days per week

The strange thing is, we would be willing to do it again

If the truth hurts, just lie
